Background/Bio
My name is Thomas Wray, a game designer/developer from Australia. Graduated university in 2018 majoring in game design.
It started off as a project that was to be done over the summer holidays between university semesters. Me and a friend would start to work on it. After a month or two they didn’t want to continue so it was either stop the project early or take it all on myself. I figured since the industry asked for experience in shipping a game the best way to do that would be to do it myself. I increased in scope and started development.
The initial idea came about when I was walking the streets during summer. I was darting from shade to shade, thinking about the angles and how shadows were cast. Avoiding light made me think ‘what if this was a game mechanic?’
Over 4 years later, countless lessons learned, highs and lows, I have come to the end of creating my first game.
Avoid Light. Solve Puzzles. Pursue Answers.
